Greetings to all and thanks for visiting. The big weather story this week is Hurricane Milton with made landfall as a Category 3 storm on the western Florida peninsula. With several weeks left in this years Atlantic hurricane season, I’ve plenty of hurricane preparedness information for you. Along with the latest US Drought Monitor update there are several good reads, so let’s get started.

With areas affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton, drought conditions continue to worsen across much of the contiguous USA Of note are extreme drought conditions from Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma and exceptional conditions in parts of Ohio, West Virginia, and Texas. The latest fire weather outlooks can be found at the Storm Prediction Center website where they are updated daily.
