Greetings to all and happy holidays! I’m glad you stopped by and hope your holidays season is going well. This week, I will expand on winter weather safety information. As usual, I’ve got this week’s US Drought Monitor update and some good reads, so let’s get started.
- Let’s start this week off with an intriguing read about astronomers finding something rather unusual about a star that is quite like our own sun.
- Though published in August 2024, this is a very thought provoking read on what will power our various means of transportation in the future.
- Do we know all we can know about our home planet? Absolutely not. Here’s a look at six amazing things we learned about Earth in 2024.
- If November 2024 seemed unusually warm, you weren’t imagining it. This sets 2024 on a pace to exceed 2023’s record global warmth.
- Here’s a very interesting read for anyone considering a career in meteorology and thoroughly covers the numerous disadvantages of this intellectually demanding career.
- Here’s the latest update on the US Drought Monitor. Like last week, drought conditions have stayed much the same this week across most of the contiguous USA. Improvement has occurred in small areas, but many regions are still in extreme to exceptional drought conditions. The latest fire weather outlooks can be found at the Storm Prediction Center website where they are updated daily.
